Filippo Brunelleschi’s engineering masterpiece – The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore or as it’s better known as -‘The Duomo’.
The transition period from Medieval to Modern Europe – the Renaissance saw many master painters, sculptures and other artists. One of the early masters was engineer and architect Filippo Brunelleschi.
The Duomo was Michelangelo’s inspiration while designing the dome of St.Peter’s Basilica.
Michelangelo said “I will make its sister, bigger but not more beautiful.”.
